Piecing together design stories
To me, design is like a puzzle: not only is it fun to create, but each piece tells an element of the story and is essential to the whole.
It is this concept that drives my overall strategy for clients – from logo design, to web design, to print design – and is why one of my central design values is consistency. Using each element and format of design to consistently tell your brand story, and gain the trust and engagement of your customers.
My design journey
My design story began after university, during a time where I was freelancing for another designer and working as a graphic design lecturer at Massey. In these roles, I gained valuable insights into the design industry, getting to know new trends and honing in on my unique design style.
Having gathered a large and loyal customer base, I decided to branch out on my own, and SO Design was born.

Relationships are at the core of SO Design; many of my clients have been with me since the very beginning. With every client that I work with, I offer one-on-one, personalised attention, so that you can be confident your design is completed by someone who truly understands your business.
My design work is practical and solution-focused, meaning I take the time to get to know each individual client and understand what is best for them and their budget.
Whether its a logo or a full brand refresh, everything is tailored to each client and their specific needs and circumstances; no two clients are the same, as no two designs are.
Growing connections in the community
One of the things I love most about design is the community surrounding it. I work with an array of talented print suppliers and creatives and together we build beautiful brand stories.
This passion for building communities goes beyond just design. With my monthly business network group – Buddies Who Breakfast – I aim to grow and strengthen connections within the Masterton community; supporting local businesses and helping them thrive.
